Data Processing on Our Website

General Information
We process your personal data if such processing is based on your consent or if it is permitted by law. The legal basis for our data processing includes the performance or initiation of a contract, your consent, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests that prevail over your interests.

We process data that we collect while operating our website and our online presence.

Data Processing in General
Data is processed for various purposes. As a general rule, data is processed only when you contact us on your own initiative—for example, when you visit our website, communicate with us via email, purchase our goods and services, or subscribe to our newsletters or other informational offerings. We use this data primarily to provide and further develop our services and website, for communication (e.g., responding to inquiries), for customer acquisition and retention, and for advertising and marketing (provided consent has been given or, if you are an existing customer, you do not object). In addition, we may use the data, for example, to protect and enforce our legal rights, to ensure the continuity of our business operations, and to safeguard our IT infrastructure.

We process personal data that we receive from you or from third parties involved, or that we collect ourselves. For example, you or the data subjects provide us with personal data when you contact us via email or a web form, or when you inquire about our goods and services. If you register personally, make reservations through our website, or request informational materials or other services, we will need personal information from you. This includes, for example, your name and contact information, as well as information about the data subject’s role within the company or organization for which you or the respective contact persons work, or on whose behalf you or they contact us. We also collect some personal data ourselves, for example, from public records or websites.

If you provide us with personal data through a third party (e.g., through your employees or other contacts), it is your responsibility to inform them in general terms about the processing carried out by us or other external service providers.

We process personal data within our area of responsibility in Switzerland. However, we may transfer personal data to recipients (namely our processors, but also other third parties, government authorities, etc.) who, in turn, process the personal data in other countries, including those that do not guarantee a level of data protection comparable to that under Swiss law. We will do so based on consent or standard contractual clauses, or if it is necessary to fulfill a contract or to enforce legal claims.

Cookies and Tracking
We use so-called cookies on our website to identify the device you use to access our website. Cookies are small pieces of data that a website can send to your browser to better support you when using database-driven systems. However, you have the option to configure your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, to automatically reject it, or to store it only for as long as you remain on the website or have your browser open. This allows you to decide for yourself whether you want to accept it or not. If you block cookies, certain features (such as language selection, shopping cart, and ordering processes) may no longer function.

To optimize our website and for statistical purposes, we collect so-called tracking data, which provides information about users’ browsing behavior. Such tracking data—as collected, for example, via Google Analytics—does not allow for the identification of individual users. No individuals can be identified based on this data.

Our websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. or Google Ireland Limited ( google.com). Google Analytics uses cookies that enable a (non-personal) analysis of your use of our websites. Google Analytics is configured so that your IP address is truncated by Google within Europe before being transferred to the U.S., and all functions that would allow identification via a potential Google account are deactivated.

Based on our configuration of Google Analytics, we assume that the information we share with Google does not constitute personal data for Google. Nevertheless, we cannot rule out the possibility that Google may use this data for its own purposes to draw conclusions about the identity of visitors, create personal profiles, and link this data to these individuals’ Google accounts. If you have a Google account, you are identifiable to Google. The processing of your personal data by Google is then carried out under Google’s responsibility in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.

You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website, as well as from processing this data, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link : tools.google.com. For more information on this, please visit tools.google.com or google.com for general information about Google Analytics and data protection. The data is retained for 26 months and then automatically and irrevocably deleted.

Google Maps
Our website incorporates map data from the Google Maps service provided by Google Ireland Limited. When using Google Maps, Google processes and uses data regarding users’ use of the map data. This may include, in particular, IP addresses and—depending on the user’s browser settings—location data. You can also choose to accept or reject Google Maps cookies at any time in your cookie settings. Google may also process this data for its own purposes (e.g., marketing and market research, and to administer its platforms) and thus acts as the data controller. Please consult Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Social Media Platforms
We maintain a presence on social networks and other third-party platforms, which we link to on our website. Through these platforms, we receive data from you (e.g., when you communicate with us or comment on our content) and from the platforms themselves (e.g., statistics). The platform providers may analyze your usage and process this data together with other data they hold about you. They also process this data for their own purposes (e.g., marketing and market research purposes and to administer their platforms), and act as separate data controllers for this purpose. Therefore, please consult the privacy policies of the respective platforms:

Contact Form: If you submit inquiries to us via the contact form, we will store the information you provide in the form—including the contact details you enter there and your IP address—for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case we have any follow-up questions.

Retention Period We store personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill services and contracts, as required by statutory retention and documentation obligations, where we have an overriding private or public interest in doing so, or where storage is required for purely technical reasons (e.g., in the case of backups or archiving systems). Unless there are legal or contractual obligations or technical reasons preventing us from doing so, we generally delete or anonymize your data once the retention or processing period has expired.

Your Rights
In particular, you have the right to access the personal data stored about you and to know the purpose of the data processing; the right to have your personal data corrected, deleted, or its processing restricted; the right to object to the processing; the right to file a complaint with a competent supervisory authority; and the right to data portability. For all inquiries regarding your rights or other questions, you may contact us by email at info@stiftung-culinarium-alpinum.ch or write to us at our mailing address.

In addition, where applicable to you, you have the right to file a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority at your place of residence, workplace, or the location of the alleged data protection violation. The competent data protection authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (http://www.edoeb.admin.ch).

In case of doubt, we reserve the right to request proof of your identity when responding to inquiries.

Please note, however, that certain conditions and exceptions apply to these rights. To the extent permitted or required by law, we may refuse requests to exercise these rights. For example, even if you request the deletion of personal data or a restriction on its processing, we may be permitted or required to retain or otherwise continue processing the personal data for legal reasons within the scope of our statutory or contractual retention obligations.

You may revoke your consent to the processing of personal data at any time. Please note that the revocation takes effect only for the future. Processing that took place prior to the revocation is not affected.

Changes
We reserve the right to unilaterally change the content of this Privacy Policy at any time and without notice. We therefore recommend that you review our Privacy Policy regularly on our website.
